Dr Caprice Webb has extensive clinical experience managing cervicogenic headaches, tension-type headaches, migraines, and post-concussion headache presentations.

Types of Headache We Assess & Manage

Not all headaches are the same, and identifying the type and contributing factors is essential to effective management. Common headache presentations we assess and manage include cervicogenic headache (arising from the neck), tension-type headache, migraine with and without aura, post-traumatic and post-concussion headache, and headaches associated with postural strain or jaw dysfunction.

A thorough assessment helps determine whether your headache is primarily musculoskeletal in origin or requires collaborative management with your GP or a specialist. Where appropriate, Dr Webb will facilitate referral and work as part of your broader healthcare team.

Musculoskeletal Factors in Headache

Research consistently shows that musculoskeletal dysfunction, particularly in the upper cervical spine, plays a significant role in many common headache types. Restricted joint movement, muscle tension, postural strain, and nerve sensitivity in the neck can all refer pain into the head and contribute to headache frequency and intensity.

Chiropractic assessment and management of the cervical spine and surrounding structures can play an important role in reducing the burden of headache for many patients. Treatment may include gentle cervical adjustments, soft tissue therapy, postural rehabilitation, and lifestyle guidance to address triggers.

Concussion Assessment & Management

Dr Caprice Webb has additional training in concussion assessment and management. Headache is one of the most common and persistent symptoms following a concussion, and early, appropriate assessment and management is important for recovery.

If you have experienced a head injury, whether from sport, a fall, or another mechanism, and are experiencing ongoing headache, neck pain, dizziness, or cognitive symptoms, a comprehensive concussion assessment with Dr Webb is an important step in your recovery pathway.
